Che Shale is renowned for its crab! With a crab farm onsite, this ensures that you are served the freshest and meatiest of crab. For seafood lovers be sure to try our Soft Shell Crab; a true delicacy. We also have a special of Deep Sea Ocean Crab and Lobster when available. Our menu has a range to choose from to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements.

Our food is a blend of international cuisine enhanced by local flavours and spices such as ginger, coriander, coconut, mango, turmeric and more. We are blessed with abundant seafood year round and beautiful produce, with a great variety of fruits and vegetables grown in Kenya.

Most of our guests opt for full board, but half board is also available. Start your day with a selection of fresh juice, yogurt and fruit or indulge in a classic fry up. For lunch choose from the a la carte menu and in the evening we offer a 4 course menu, which changes every night based on what is fresh and in season.

Enjoy your meals served al fresco on the beach, at the kite chill lounge or in our dining room. All stays include complimentary afternoon tea/coffee and freshly baked cookies or cake.

In the evening guests gather round the bar or outside in our chill areas enjoying traditional Kenyan sundowners and bitings. Having recently revamped our cocktail menu, be sure to try one of our 5 Che Shale Special cocktails. Once the sun has gone down guests can choose to chill by the fire and enjoy the spectacular night sky which comes from being in a remote location or continue inside sharing stories with fellow guests.
