Are you an experienced kite instructor looking for a beautiful kite beach, great wind conditions and a friendly team to join?

Che Shale is all about quality, unique kiting experience and a stunning environment. Our hotel has been around for almost 40 years and we were the 1st school to open in East Africa 15 yrs ago.

We are looking for an experienced instructor who can also take on some day-to-day running of the school and the current team. We need someone who brings a blend of passion and professionalism and dedication. The mix will be 80% teaching and 20% supervision school’s operations.

The dates are from mid-December 2017 through mid-April 2018.

  • Teach students (most students are staying at the hotel or come from the other hotels in Malindi)
  • Manage lessons daily schedule of lessons
  • Lead kite staff and students briefings at beginning of the day
  • Lead downwinders and dhow sailing & kiting day trips
  • Supervise other local instructors (2 Kenyan instructors who have been here 3 to 6 years) who are quite self-sufficient as it is
  • Look after equipment, SUPs and Kayaks
  • Make sure all paperwork is filled out properly and filed
  • Interact with clients and help us “entertain” at the bar and in the restaurant in the evenings (this is fun and convivial…hardly a job duty!)
  • Supervise maintenance of rescue boat
  • Diploma with IKO or BKSA or other accredited organization
  • Min 3 yrs teaching experience
  • English fluent (other languages a plus: French, German and Italian are most useful)
